This is a picture of my grandmother and grandfather, Mary and Morris Duberstein, taken about the time I was born, 1924-1926. He passed away soon after, and I don’t remember ever meeting him. As for Mary, she lived to be 99 years old! Raised a family of eight. She told me that she prayed to God often to give strength to the front part of her to shlep the hinter part. In Yiddish, of course.
